Live video monitoring is a service where trained operators watch your security cameras in real time from an off-site centre. When a camera detects a person or vehicle, an operator checks the feed within seconds, warns the intruder through a speaker, and calls police or your keyholders if the threat is real.
Video analytics filter out wind, animals and headlights, so operators spend their time on real events. Every incident is recorded, time-stamped and sent to you in a report with the video clip, which makes insurance claims and police follow-up faster.

What is live video monitoring and how does it work?
Your cameras stream to our monitoring centre over an encrypted connection. Video analytics flag people and vehicles in areas that should be empty. An operator checks the feed, speaks to the person through an on-site speaker, and calls police, fire or your contacts if the threat is real. You get a report with the video afterwards.
Is live video monitoring better than hiring a security guard?
For most after-hours sites, yes. One operator can watch every camera on the property at once, while a guard can only be in one place. Monitoring usually costs a fraction of a guard. Where a person on site is needed, for example for access checks or first aid, we combine monitoring with guards from Supreme Security Services.
Do I need special cameras for live monitoring?
Usually not. We connect to most modern IP camera systems and recorders. Cameras need a clear view, enough light or infrared at night, and a stable internet connection. Speakers make talk-down possible. We check your system during the site assessment and only recommend new equipment where it is needed.
What happens if an alarm goes off after hours?
The operator opens the cameras near the alarm zone within seconds. If there is an intruder, they issue a warning through the speaker and call police with a description, which counts as a verified alarm. If it is a false alarm, such as a door left open, they log it and contact you according to your plan.
Can I view my cameras on my phone?
Yes. You keep full access to your own cameras and recordings through your system's app. Our monitoring runs alongside it and does not lock you out.
Will the system still work if the internet goes down?
Cameras keep recording locally on the recorder. Live monitoring needs a connection, so we are alerted when a site goes offline and follow your plan, for example calling a keyholder. For high-risk sites we recommend a cellular backup connection.
Do you monitor more than one location?
Yes. We monitor single sites and multi-location businesses across Ontario from the same centre, with one response plan and one report format for every location.
How much does live video monitoring cost?
Plans start at $0.80 per camera per hour. The total depends on how many cameras we watch, the hours of coverage and any extra services. For comparison, an on-site guard in Ontario is often billed at $28 to $45 an hour. We give you a written price after the site assessment.
